Seed Map Accuracy
chunksout positions are checked against an independent reference: the game itself on Java 26.3 (10 seeds) and Chunkbase 26.50 on Bedrock (22 seeds). Of the villages shown, 99.4% are real on Java 26.3 and 96.4% on Bedrock; of the trial chambers, 100% and 98.4%. Checked (Java) and (Bedrock).

Percentages are rounded down, so they never overstate the result.
Not checked yet on Java, so marked approximate: igloo, witch hut, trail ruins, ocean monument, buried treasure, shipwreck, woodland mansion, mineshaft, pillager outpost, ancient city, desert well, amethyst geode.
Not checked yet on Bedrock, so marked approximate: mineshaft.
Spot checks on older Java versions (1.19.4, 1.20.6, 1.21.1 and 1.21.3; 3 seeds, within 1,400 blocks): on each, 14 of 14 villages, 44 of 44 ruined portals and 75 of 75 ocean ruins shown are real, and 60 of 60 trial chambers on 1.21.1 and 1.21.3. They do not change the labels.
Java desert pyramids and jungle temples pass a terrain check that removes spots the game cannot build on. Within 6,000 blocks of 0, 0 on the same seeds (Java 26.3) it removed 35, and the game builds 3 of them, so those 3 are missing from the map. The same check on 1.20.6 and 1.18.2 removed 35 with 3 real, and with Large Biomes on 26.3 78 with 8 real.
What do precision and recall mean?
- Precision
- Of the structures the map shows, the share that really exist at that spot. Low precision means you may travel to an empty place.
- Recall
- Of the structures that really exist, the share the map shows. Low recall means the map misses some.
Example: in the Bedrock test area the map showed 365 villages and 352 of them were real, so village precision is 96.4%. All 352 real villages were among those shown, so recall is 100%.
How we measured
- Java: the game itself (a vanilla Java 26.3 server) on 10 seeds; every structure within 2,400 blocks of 0, 0 is compared with the map, block for block.
- Bedrock seeds: 18 random 64-bit seeds plus 4 seeds used in earlier checks — 22 in total.
- Bedrock area: every chunk from -128 to 127 on both X and Z around 0, 0.
- Bedrock reference: Chunkbase’s own Bedrock 26.50 calculation for the same seeds and area. The map uses the Bedrock 1.21.0 – 26.52 rules. Checked against Chunkbase Bedrock 26.50 (22 seeds); 26.51–26.52 use the same rules on Chunkbase; newer Bedrock versions are not checked.
- Bedrock matching: a structure counts as found when it is in the same chunk as the reference (Trial chambers, ruined portals and trail ruins: within one chunk).
- Labels: Checked when both precision and recall are at least 95%; Hidden when either is below 50% or nothing is shown; otherwise Approximate. Only Checked types are on by default, and Hidden types are not on the map.
What is not checked yet
Java versions other than 26.3 and the spot checks above, Bedrock versions other than 26.50, and biome boundaries. Hidden because fewer than half of the positions shown, or of the real ones, matched: Woodland mansion (Bedrock), Pillager outpost (Bedrock), Ancient city (Bedrock). Not on this map yet: Nether fortress, Bastion remnant, Stronghold, End city.

Report a wrong position
If a structure is not where the map says, report a wrong position with the seed, edition, game version and the coordinates you checked. Every report is re-measured before the numbers on this page change.
